DAILY PRAYER POINTERS
1. Sunday Pray for the many Ethiopian prisoners gathering together today for worship including those who still need a chapel.
2 Pray for Ethiopian volunteer medical teams visiting prisons as part of the Prisons Medical Project. 3 Pray for Twinkle of Hope providing much needed support for children in prison with their mothers in Ethiopia 4 Pray for prisoners who may feel under threat from drugs barons and other "tough" bullies. 5 Pray for the families of prisoners - so often suffering on account or their loved one's behaviour. 6 Give thanks for opportunities to provide Bibles for prisoners and pray for those who in the isolation of a prison cell are discovering more about God's salvation plan. 7 Pray that the Bibles needed among the growing number of new Christian believers in Ethiopian prisons may be able to be obtained. 8 Sunday Pray that whatever may be in their minds and hearts today that those able to attend a service will be blessed themselves as they worship the Lord and hear a message from his word. Pray especially that any who do not know the Saviour will respond to the life changing gospel message 9 . Pray for Ashley Crampton and his prisons related ministry in both New Zealand and in Fiji. 10 Pray for prisoners being released at this time of year - especially those who may have spent many years in prison and who never want to go back inside again - as they enter an unfamiliar world with no money and nowhere to live. 11 In these times of budget cuts pray for all the administrative staff working in the prison system and coping with the massive amounts of paperwork. 12 Pray for prisoners who do not have any support from family or friends on the outside. 13 Pray for "Listeners" - prisoners who have been trained by the Samaritans to support fellow prisoners in crisis. This can be a busy time for them. 14 UK prisons are very full and in recent times experienced staff levels have gone down. Pray for the safety of staff and that efforts to apply the principles of restorative justice are not adversely affected 15 Sunday. Pray for those separated from loved ones at Christmas time through imprisonment - both the prisoners and their families. 16 Pray for Christian Chaplains and for the great opportunities at this time of the year to point others to Jesus' 17 Never ever forget - Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Praise His wonderful name! 18 Pray for prisoners, victims, families and others affected by imprisonment that those who may be considering suicide may be identified and receive support in their despair. |
19 Pray for the large number of foreign nationals in UK prisons that efforts may be made to identify their and their families needs and concerns.
20 Give thanks for those prisoners who having come to a saving knowledge of Jesus are boldly witnessing in both word and deed to their new life. 21 Pray for the very large number of prisoners in UK prisons with mental health problems that their special needs will be met - especially at this time 22 Sunday. Pray for the JFA-PFE prison chaplaincy coordinator team serving in prisons throughout Ethiopia and that more sponsors will be found to support them. 23 It is reported that the UK locks up more people per head of population than any other country except the USA. Pray that other ways may be explored for dealing with offenders where there was no criminal intent. 24 The need for restorative justice, rehabilitation and redemption in the prisons of England and Wales continues to be highlighted in official statements. Pray that this will become more than just words. 25 HAPPY CHRISTMAS! "Don't be afraid...I bring you good news of great joy for every one! The Saviour - yes the Messiah, the Lord - has been born tonight in Bethlehem, the city of David" Luke 2: 10-11 NLT. Pray for chaplains and that those prisoners and staff who are able to attend services will be blessed as they give thanks together for the birth of Jesus. 26 Pray for prisoners who have come to know Jesus as their Saviour and Lord that they will receive support and encouragement as they explore what it means to live as a Christian believer. 27 Pray for the large number of Ethiopian prisoners who have come to the Lord. During the past year were able to raise funds for a new chapel in a prison with a large number of mostly new believers and construction work is now going ahead 28 Keep praying for prisoners who are looking for some Christian fellowship as they approach release 29 Sunday. Pray that the rejoicing may continue as the person of Jesus, his unique birth, his purpose and his plan are central in chapels today. 30 Give thanks to the Lord for the blessings of this past year, pray for ongoing needs and let us trust Him for all that's to come! 31 Pray for a peaceful night in prisons across the UK as some might seek to cause trouble as a way of "celebrating" the new year. _______________________________________________
