1 Please pray for our trustees in their decision making as they meet today, for wisdom and guidance as they wait on the Lord, review the past year and focus on the days ahead in 2018
2 Give thanks for the large numbers of prisoners in Ethiopia from all kinds of backgrounds who are turning to the Lord, receiving and understanding his forgiveness and diligently studying the Scriptures. 3 Sunday Pray for the many Ethiopian prisoners gathering together today fr worship including those who still need a chapel. 4 Pray for Ethiopian volunteer medical teams visiting prisons as part of the Prisons Medical Project. 5 Pray for Twinkle of Hope providing much needed support for children in prison with their mothers in Ethiopia 6 Pray for prisoners who may feel under threat from drugs barons and other "tough" bullies. 7 Pray for the families of prisoners - so often suffering on account or their loved one's behaviour. 8 Give thanks for opportunities to provide Bibles for prisoners and pray for those who in the isolation of a prison cell are discovering more about God's salvation plan. 9 Pray that the Bibles needed among the growing number of new Christian believers in Ethiopian prisons may be able to be obtained. 10 Sunday Prisoners sometimes come to the chapel for reasons of their own not connected to worship! Pray that today some will respond to the life changing gospel message 11 . Pray for Ashley Crampton and his prisons related ministry in both New Zealand and in Fiji. 12 Pray for prisoners being released at this time of year - especially those who may have spent many years in prison and who never want to go back inside again - as they enter an unfamiliar world with no money and nowhere to live. 13 In these times of budget cuts pray for all the administrative staff working in the prison system and coping with the massive amounts of paperwork. 14 Pray for prisoners who do not have any support from family or friends on the outside. 15 Pray for "Listeners" - prisoners who have been trained by the Samaritans to support fellow prisoners in crisis. This can be a busy time for them. 16 UK prisons are very full and in recent times experienced staff levels have gone down. Pray for the safety of staff and that efforts to apply the principles of restorative justice are not adversely affected 17 Sunday. Pray for those separated from loved ones at Christmas time through imprisonment - both the prisoners and their families. 18 Pray for Christian Chaplains and for the great opportunities at this time of the year to point others to Jesus' |

Pray for the growing JFA-PFE prison chaplaincy coordinator team serving in prisons throughout Ethiopia and that more sponsors will be found to support them. 25 HAPPY CHRISTMAS! "Don't be afraid...I bring you good news of great joy for every one! The Saviour - yes the Messiah, the Lord - has been born tonight in Bethlehem, the city of David" Luke 2: 10-11 NLT. Pray for chaplains and that those prisoners and staff who are able to attend services will be blessed as they give thanks together for the birth of Jesus. 26 It is reported that the UK locks up more people per head of population than any other country except the USA. Pray that other ways may be explored for dealing with offenders where there was no criminal intent. 27 The need for restorative justice, rehabilitation and redemption in the prisons of England and Wales has recently been highlighted. Pray that this will be more than words. 28 Pray for prisoners who have come to know Jesus as their Saviour and Lord. Sometimes they can be subjected to mocking or violence and can be tempted to retaliate. 29 Keep praying for prisoners who are looking for some Christian fellowship as they approach release. 30 Give thanks to the Lord for the blessings of this past year, pray for ongoing needs and let us trust Him for all that's to come! 31 Pray for a peaceful and settled night in prisons across the UK as some might seek to cause trouble as a way of "celebrating" the new year. _________________________________________________ Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.
